What is a nickname for Michael Thomas Boyd III?

We are planning on naming our child Michael Thomas Boyd III. What is a good nickname? My father in law is Mike and my husband is Mikey.|||Lil' Mike

Tom

Tommy

Micky

Mickey

I like the person who suggested Tre!

Once your son is here, you may come up w/ a completely different name for a nickname. When I was little, my parents called me Punky, which has nothing to do w/ my actual name. Same w/ my brother; he was always called Clyde, though his name's Kevin.|||Mickey

Mick

M.T., though he might get teased in school for being called "Empty."

Tommy

Thom (pronounced Tom, just spelled differently)

Tom

Tripp (for III)

Trey (for III)

Trace (pronounced Spanish "Tres" for III)

Sport

Champ

Chief (One of my cousins was called "Chief.")

Though these last three would probably work best as just "family" names, used only by family and very close friends.

I wouldn't use "Mike" or "Mikey." That would be too easy to confuse with his dad and granddad's names.

.

I personally don't like "Little Mike" or anything like that. My uncle, just four years older than I, was "Little Harry" to the family until he was in his thirties! He hated that name, and it took him decades to finally get people used to using just "Harry."|||You could always go with Mickey, Mick, or Mitch, but you might not be crazy about those. Better yet, call him "Michael," since neither your husband nor your father in-law use that name.

Thomas, Tom, or Tommy are also options--just call him by his middle name.

Or you can use one of the nicknames that means "The Third," like Trey or Tripp.|||Mikey T. lol. thats a friend of mines nickname (same name Michael Thomas.lol)

no really go with Tommy or dont even think of one yet. maybe your son will do something funny and that will stick.

my name i leanne. but i go by lannie. my little cousin couldnt pronounce it correctly so she called me lannie. the name stuck and npw even my friends call be that. lol.

something will come whether its a spinoff of michael to a completelydifferent name........itll come.

=) lannie|||Stick with Michael (the full name) ... or ... Mick, Mickey ... or go with Thomas - Tom, Tommy

I'd suggest using initials, but MT sounds like "empty" and MB, well, it might grow on you ...

Hope this helps|||Trey...it means 3 and my son is also a 3rd...so his grandpa has always called him Trey.

Trey

Emmy

Thomas

Boyd

Mckel...thats my 2nd sons middle name...his grandpas name is michael...so i just spelt it different and is pronounced a bit different but means the same thing...|||Trip or Trey would honor the fact that he's the third.

You could use Mac or Mitch, too. Both are more of a stretch from Michael, but I've heard them used.

And, of course, he could simply go by Tom or Tommy.|||You could use the nickname Mickey when he's young.

Other ideas:

Mic

Chael (Cull)

Chaelie (Cull-ee)

Or, you could always refer to him by his middle name; Tommy and Tom are nice.|||Mikey pronounced:{my-key}|||Mike

Mikey

Mickey

Tommy|||Little Mikey

Tommy

Trey|||I would go with Mike. Think about what he will want to be called as an adult...I don't think there are very many adult Mikeys running around.|||Tommy :)|||Tommy|||How about Mit for a nickname.

also Mich would work.|||Mikey Toms.|||Tommy.

Or even better- Tres or Tre. Because he's the third one.|||Mick

Micko

Micka|||Mick, Thom, Trey|||mick mishell thomy,tommi|||Mike or Mikey|||MT

little man|||mike or mikey|||how about:

Mikey or Mikee

Tommy

since he is a third:

Tripp

Trey

Trace
